SRS-WORLDHOTELS Appoints Preferred Agent for Malaysia

SRS-WORLDHOTELS has appointed Discover The World Marketing Sdn Bhd (DTWM) as its Preferred Agent for Malaysia, for a three year duration. This means that DTWM will effectively act as the SRS-WORLDHOTELS sales office in Malaysia, carrying out sales and marketing activities as well as conducting business on behalf of SRS-WORLDHOTELS.

Discover the World Marketing has a global network of more than 75 offices in 51 countries worldwide, In Kuala Lumpur, the team that will represent SRS-WORLDHOTELS is headed by Ms Lynn Oh, who has more than 20 years experience in the travel and hotel industry, mostly in senior marketing positions.

Malaysia is a significant market for SRS-WORLDHOTELS; eight of its member hotels are located in Malaysia. These are The Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel Johor Bahru, Sutera Harbour Resort in Kota Kinabalu, The Pan Pacific Glenmarie, The Pan Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, The Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya , Palace of the Golden Horses in Kuala Lumpur and The Pan Pacific Resort Pangkor Island.

Currently, SRS-WORLDHOTELS has almost 400 member hotels in its portfolio, representing over 70,000 rooms in 65 countries and 250 destinations worldwide. In 2000, SRS-WORLDHOTELS generated over 1.2 million room nights for its members and a total turnover of US$192 million – an increase of 17% over the previous year.

SRS-WORDLHOTELS’ Asia/Pacific operation has grown dramatically to 20 staff in four offices around the region. The company has over 50 properties in Asia/Pacific and SRS-WORLDHOTELS saw an increase of over 40% in it room night production from the Asia Pacific region in 2000.
