TOP IRISH GROUP CHOOSES
THE HOTEL SHOW FOR MIDDLE EAST MARKET DRIVE
Madini
Hotelworks is largest single exhibitor so far and plans to once again
use The Hotel Show to reach its primary market, the Middle East
Madini Hotelworks,
representing the cream of Northern Ireland’s designers and
manufacturers of hotel interior furnishings, has taken almost 10% of
available exhibition space at The Hotel Show in Dubai between May
20-22 next year.
Madini Hotelworks
represents 23 Northern Irish companies with a combined annual turnover
of more than Dhs2.3 billion, and is to use The Hotel Show as its main
platform for marketing into the Middle East – its primary market
worldwide for the past two years.
“Madini targets the
Middle East and we intend to consolidate our position with a major
display of the innovation and quality of the companies we
represent,” said Bill McGinnis, chairman of
Madini Hotelworks. “Several Madini participating companies will launch new
fabric and carpet designs for bedrooms and dining rooms and there will
be product demonstrations. After
the 2001 show earlier this year we got an exceptional response which
translated into business, including a major contract from the
Metropolitan Palace Hotel in Beirut for fine quality and bed
linens.”
Madini Hotelworks has the
endorsement of the Northern Ireland Trade Development Centre in Dubai,
which officially promotes two-way trade between the Middle East and
Northern Ireland, which has a particularly strong and competitive
tourism sector.
The Hotel Show is held
under the patronage of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Minister of Defence, and chairman
of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
The Show was purchased by
dmg World Media, a subsidiary of FTSE100 company The Daily Mail &
General Trust plc last year, and is already benefiting from ambitious
international marketing initiatives in the wake of the buyout.
Already, a third of
exhibiting space has been booked, 50% of this by new exhibitors,
including strong local interest. Four new national pavilions,
representing Thailand, Lebanon, Taiwan and the Philippines, have been
confirmed, bringing a substantial number of exhibitors from those
countries. The US,
Germany, South Africa, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and
Hong Kong have once again taken pavilions and Northern Ireland’s
Madini Hotelworks will be the single biggest exhibitor,
“With the Hotel Show now under the umbrella of one of the largest
exhibition organisers in the Middle East, it enjoys highly specialised
global support, ” said Joanne Evans, director of the organizers,
Streamline Marketing.
A
further feature of The Hotel Show 2002 will be The Office Show next
door, thus expanding its
role into a new business area which
is growing fast throughout the Middle East.
This year’s Hotel Show
attracted 115 exhibitors representing more than 200 companies from 13
countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, the GCC, North America and South
Africa. The event also attracted over 3,500 quality visitors from the
Middle East hotel industry.
The
Hotel Show’s international exhibitor line-up will include
manufacturers in air conditioning, audio visual, video conferencing
and sound systems, bathroom supplies and bed linen, building
materials, cutlery and crockery, carpeting and curtains. Also on show
will be producers of computer hardware and software, fitness, spa and
pool equipment, buses, vans and limousines, landscaping services,
management and reservations systems, telecommunications systems,
uniforms, and dozens of other products and services vital to a
hotel’s day-to-day running.
