Virgin Blue
will begin a direct daylight service, replacing its existing night time
service between Brisbane and Mt Isa from October 26, with seats now on
sale from $189 plus airport charges and taxes.
It follows Virgin Blue’s commitment to Queensland by being the first
airline to step up and offer flights, following the collapse of Ansett.
Virgin Blue swiftly introduced a late night/early morning service in the
short term to offer an interim option for those needing to travel.
With the arrival of new aircraft, Virgin Blue will keep its promise of
moving to daylight flights to better cater for the needs of the
travelling public in both directions.
Chief Executive Officer, Brett Godfrey said, “We thank the people of Mt
Isa and Brisbane for already giving us a go on our night time flights.
We are happy to be moving to a daylight service in recognition of the
strong support we’ve received from those who realise there is only one
airline committed to low fares on this newly competitive route and
throughout the country.”
Virgin Blue has opened Brisbane-Mt Isa seats for sale up until December
16 and plans to put on sale its Christmas flights next month when it
takes delivery of further aircraft. |
