Dragonair has
appointed Gerard ter Bruggen as Manager, Cargo Sales & Services, Europe.
He will be responsible for developing the airline’s cargo sales and
services in continental Europe, positioning Dragonair as a premium
carrier to Hong Kong and mainland China.
Gerard’s duties also include co-ordinating and liaising with Dragonair’s
General Sales Agents and General Handling Agents in his area. He will be
based Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
Gerard has considerable experience in the cargo field. He was previously
Director of Sales & Marketing in the Netherlands for DANZAS/Air Express
International BV. Prior to that he was Director of Sales & Marketing for
the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal with Martinair
Holland.
Dragonair launched all-cargo services on July 28 last year, operating a
wet-leased Boeing 747-200 three times a week to Dubai, Amsterdam and
Manchester. It also flies once a week to Shanghai. Late last year the
airline purchased two Boeing 747-300s which will enter service in July
and September this year.
Dragonair is a Hong Kong-based airline, operating a fleet of five
A330-300s, three A321s and six A320s in addition to the wet-leased
Boeing 747-200 freighter from Atlas Air Inc. It has announced plans to
double its fleet by the end of 2005. The airline’s passenger network
covers 27 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, including 17 in
mainland China. |
