BLUE MEMBERSHIP TIER ADDED TO THE ELITE

Travel News Asia Date: 3 September 2001

The Elite, the loyalty club designed to recognise and reward Dragonair’s most frequent fliers, has begun accepting applications for its newest membership level, the Blue tier. The club, which was launched last year, now has three levels: Platinum, Gold and Blue, with members enjoying a range of exclusive privileges and special offers.

“The new Blue tier is the entry level of The Elite,” explained James Yeung, Dragonair’s General Manager Commercial. “From now on all new Members will enrol at the Blue tier, and will be able to upgrade to the Gold and then the Platinum level depending on how often they have flown with Dragonair.”

To qualify for the Blue tier, travellers need only to have flown six full-fare sectors in three consecutive months within the past six months.

Said Yeung: “The Members of The Elite are our most loyal customers and so we reward them with a range of service privileges.”

Blue Tier Members enjoy access to Dragonair Lounges, advance seat reservation, priority handling and access to the dedicated Member Service Hotlines of The Elite.

In addition, they will receive special offers from hotels and club partners in other travel-related fields, as well as discounts on inflight shopping sales.

Membership application forms are now available at all Dragonair check-in desks, lounges and ticketing offices.

Dragonair is a Hong Kong-based airline, operating a fleet of seven A330-300s, three A321s and seven A320s, in addition to two Boeing freighters. It is currently in the midst of a programme to more than double its fleet by the end of 2005. The airline's passenger network covers 28 destinations (including Ningbo) across the Asia-Pacific region, while its cargo network connects the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Japan and China.
