The Government
of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has
produced a unique travel guide as part of a niche marketing initiative
to target the affluent Japanese women.
Titled the 'Dubai Travel Guide', this 36-page booklet features detailed
information on points of specific interest for Japanese women including
branded goods, shopping, spa & aesthetics, gourmet life etc. in addition
to general information on the destination.
"Our research confirms that a large portion of Japan's total population
of 126 million comprises women between the ages of 15 to 64 (nearly 43
million). The Japanese travel trade confirm that affluent Japanese women
are frequent travelers and our guide is aimed at this niche market,"
said DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb.
He remarked that Japan is the world's second most powerful economy and
among the most technologically advanced nations. Japanese women visiting
Dubai would now have comprehensive information in their hands in a
language of their preference.
The department had last year collaborated with Nikkei BP, one of Japan's
leading and reliable publishers, and produced a comprehensive travel
guide that is retailing at major bookstores across Japan for
approximately Dhs 50 per copy (1,500).
The new guide will be distributed free of cost by the DTCM's office in
Tokyo to inquiring individuals. |
