This year United is the official airline of the U.S. Open, one of the
most prestigious and exciting tennis tournaments in the world. The
airline wants its customers to share the excitement. So it is launching
a worldwide promotion in August and offering the package detailed above
to lucky winners from a number of markets, including Hong Kong.
A winner will be selected randomly on August 15 once the promotion ends
at the mid-night of the 14th.
“We are thrilled at being the official airline of the U.S. Open this
year and we want to be able to share the excitement with our customers.
Some of them are already planning to fly with us to New York for this
major event next month. Now some lucky ones will be able to get
everything arranged for free by United,” said Nicolas E. Ferri, United’s
General Sales Manager for Hong Kong.
As a pioneer in developing technology and one of the first airlines to
offer comprehensive travel services through its websites, United has
chosen the Internet as the media for the U.S. Open promotion. United’s
customers will be invited personally by the airline via email to join
this promotion.
The popularity of United’s Hong Kong website www.unitedairlines.com.hk
has grown rapidly since its relaunch last year with the addition of a
local booking engine and other travel related services. The website also
features a customer paging service that advises customers of flight
information via their internet-enabled pager, cellular phone or personal
computer; customers’ personal information on United’s frequent flyer
program, Mileage Plus; up-to-the-minute flight information; hotel
reservations, car rental bookings, etc. It is available in Chinese.
“United has a great website and, we would like to encourage more visits
to it through this promotion. We have also provided an option for
visitors to tell their friends about this great opportunity,” added Mr.
Ferri.
