Management (PHM), the operator of Mutiara Hotels and Resorts, is pleased
to announce the appointment of Mr Mohamed Halim Merican to the position
of General Manager, Yield and Revenue Management and Ms Tina Pillay as
Director of Customer Relations within the group.
Mohamed Halim Merican – General Manager, Yield and Revenue Management
Mohamed Halim Merican is a graduate of "Les Roches" Hotel Management
School in Switzerland. Since graduating he has worked with several
leading five-star international hotel groups including Hilton Petaling
Jaya, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt and Shangri-La Hotels and
Resorts. Prior to joining the corporate team of Mutiara Hotels &
Resorts, Halim was the Acting General Manager of Mutiara Kuala Lumpur
(formerly known as Hilton Kuala Lumpur).
Tina Pillay – Director of Customer Relations
Ms Tina Pillay has been appointed as Director of Customer Relations
(CRM). Tina has had 18 years experience with Malaysia Airlines (MAS)
specialising in reservations, ticketing, tour planning and system
development and implementation.
In 1989 she was seconded to the ABACUS National Marketing Company for
two years to train travel agents in the use of the ABACUS Computerised
Reservations System (CRS) and to also oversee its system development.
In 1999 she was appointed as Manager, CRS Development with MAS. In her
various positions she has been responsible for designing, developing,
delivering and evaluating CRS courses. Tina has also been involved in
the planning and developing of appropriate courses for the travel
industry, specifically on reservations, ticketing and customer service.
In addition, she was actively involved in the preparation of curriculum
models at the MAS Training Centre.
Tina brings with her a wealth of experience and she is responsible for
the development of the central sales reservation system for all Mutiara
Hotels and Resorts in Malaysia.

International Holdings Berhad. The group has six properties located in
key cities and resorts in Malaysia that include Burau Bay (Langkawi);
Johor Bahru (Johor); Kuala Lumpur; Pedu Lake (Kedah); Penang and Taman
