further popularity as a destination across the UK when the Evening
Standard newspaper included Dubai as the first stopover on an around the
world trip that includes other prominent destinations such as Singapore,
Hong Kong, Vancouver, Mexico and Miami.
"The Evening Standard is an esteemed publication and their decision to
include a Dubai stopover on this round the world itinerary speaks
volumes for how Dubai has matured as a destination for the British
traveler," said the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's
(DTCM) Director General, Khalid A. bin Sulayem.
He noted that the newspaper had described Dubai as a 'magical

extremely influential in influencing public opinion and is definitely
more effective than advertising," he stressed.
