of successful trials of the new Hong Kong to Danang service operated by
Vietnam-based Pacific Airlines since December 2000, the new direct
service will commence on a regular scheduled basis as of 28 April 2001.

A dedicated MD90 aircraft with 150 seats (138 economy class and 12

service between the two destinations since before the Vietnam War, it is
expected to dramatically increase tourism to Central Vietnam from Hong

gateway is also served by direct flights from Bangkok by Thai Airways
International (introduced in 1999) and international charter flights
such as Dragonair from Hong Kong. Talks are currently in progress on
possible direct flights from Singapore (2001), Taiwan (2001), Cambodia
(2001) and Kunming, China (2002). |
