Continental
Airlines (NYSE: CAL) welcomes Disney as an exclusive programming partner
for inflight entertainment on the Continental Family Channel. This
channel is part of the airline's state-of-the-art seatback video system,
available to all customers traveling on the its modern 767s and 777s.
"When you think of families, you think of Disney," said Continental
Airlines Vice President of Marketing Mark Bergsrud. "Their lineup of
quality family programming is impressive, and we think our customers
will be pleased with our monthly selections for the Continental Family
Channel."
The airline has scheduled the following Disney programs, with additional
programs to be introduced in later months:
* In April, the feature film will be The Shaggy D.A., along with an
episode of the popular television program, Honey I Shrunk the Kids. * In
May, the Academy Award-winning motion picture Mary Poppins comes to
seatback video screens.
* And in June, viewers will be spellbound by Bedknobs and Broomsticks
and an entertaining episode of Ducktales.
"As other airlines cut back their inflight service," said Bergsrud,
"Continental continues to add the features our customers appreciate
most." The seatback video system provides customers in Continental's
award-winning BusinessFirst cabin with 16 video channels, and economy
class customers may choose from eight video channels. In addition, all
customers may listen to any of 13 audio channels or play six popular
video games.
Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline in the U.S., offering
more than 2,200 departures daily to 136 domestic and 92 international
destinations. Operating hubs in Newark, Houston, Cleveland and Guam,
Continental serves more international cities than any other U.S.
carrier, including extensive service throughout the Americas, Europe and
