Century
International Hotels marks its first venture and expansion into Central
Asia with the soon to be opened Century Samarkand Hotel in Uzbekistan.
The 140-room hotel is Century International Hotels’ first property in
the recently created ‘Confederated Independent States’ (C.I.S.). Located
in Samarkand City, it is close to the business district, government
offices and shopping areas. Facilities include an exhibition hall,
conference rooms, fully equipped business centre, restaurants and bars,
sauna and swimming pool. In addition, tennis courts, a billiard hall,
small casino and an outdoor dance area are planned.
Samarkand is one of the oldest cities and cultural centres of the world
and a key stop on the famous ‘Silk Road’. Visitors are often fascinated
by its Oriental edifices, especially the symbol of Uzbekistan — the
Registan Square framed picturesquely by the three madrassah. Restored to
its original splendour, this public square ranks first in Central Asia
and among the greatest of all the grandiose and magnificent works of the
Islamic world.
Century International Hotels currently manages 19 hotels and resorts in
seven Asian countries - Hong Kong SAR, China, Vietnam, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. |
