Dragonair has
flown a shipment of winter clothes collected by the Crossroads
International charity in Hong Kong to Kathmandu, Nepal, where it is
urgently needed by the Esther Benjamin Foundation for babies and young
children.
“We have supported the work of Crossroads International in the past and
were pleased to be able to help them this time when we received this
urgent request,” said Laura Crampton, Dragonair’s Corporate
Communication Manager.
The shipment of 13 cartons contain warm clothes suitable for Nepali
winters donated to Crossroads International. The charity, run by Malcolm
and Sally Begbie, takes quality superseded goods and redistributes them
to people in need locally and internationally.
“We rely on the support of companies in our community and we appreciate
Dragonair’s help in getting this shipment to Nepal so quickly,”
explained Malcolm Begbie. The Esther Benjamins Trust cares for children
whose parents are incarcerated. The Trust will distribute the clothing
among these needy babies and children, together with further family
members and others in need. |
