China Southern
Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People's
Republic of China, is pleased to honor its Hainan Airline Branch which
has held a record nine years of safe flight operations.
"Nine years is a long time," said Mr. Li Kun, Vice President, China
Southern Airlines. With Beijing, China recently winning the honor to
host the 2008 Summer Olympics, Mr. Li likened it to the multiyear gulf
which spanned the Opening Ceremonies of the 1992 Barcelona and 2000
Sydney Summer Olympic Games.
"During any given nine-year period, children will grow into young
adults, young adults marry and start their families and senior citizens
ripen into their retirement Golden Years," said Mr. Li, adding that
"nine years equals to 108 months or 468 weeks or more than 3,200 days."
A lot can happen in nine years.
For China Southern Airlines' Hainan Branch, this near decade-long period
equates to years of completely safe flight operations.
Since its foundation on September 19, 1992, the China Southern Airlines
Hainan Branch has earned passengers' trust for its excellent safety
record and high marks for top in-flight service … all the while clawing
their way into a market leading position in the region's hotly
competitive air market.
China Southern Airlines' Hainan Branch currently has more than 800
employees and senior staff and operates four Boeing 757 and three Boeing
737 with 185 domestic, regional and international routes to 58 cities
and safely carried more than 8 Million passengers. Additionally, the
aviation organization has successively added many new marketing programs
to attract the corporate business customer, including: Downtown check-in
counters with advance flight reconfirmation and luggage check-in; a
24-hour ticketing telephone hot line as well as free city shuttle
transportation to/from the airport.
And in these more than 100 months, the China Southern Airlines Hainan
Branch earned numerous accolades including the "Advanced Unit in
Aviation Safety Management" by the Civil Aviation Administration of
China (CAAC); "First Prize Evaluation of In-flight Service Quality" by
the CAAC Central & Southern Regions and "A Unit With Spiritual
Civilization" by the Hainan Provincial Government.
Mr. Li added that the "Hainan Branch possesses a youthful and aggressive
maintenance staff which ahear to skillful and strict air safety
disciplines. With the motto of 'Refining Flight Technology and
Guaranteeing Complete Success in Maintenance Management,' China Southern
Airlines' Hainan Branch, since its founding, has always kept a solid
record in flight safety."
In total, 22 pilots have been honored by the CAAC with the coveted Feats
Award, Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal for flight safety.
