Details about
the preliminary program for the Americas Lodging Investment Summit
(ALIS) have been released by Jim Burba, ALIS chairman.
According to Burba, the level of industry support for the inaugural ALIS
has exceeded all expectations. “As of today, 66 companies and
organizations have become sponsors. Three organizations have become
Special Event Patrons, including Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, FONATUR
and Interval International,” stated Burba. “We are also very excited to
welcome Marriott International, Inc. as our Kodak Theatre Patron. Their
generous support, and that of all of our sponsors, will not only
contribute substantially to a blockbuster event, but also provide
support for the ALIS mission to benefit the Educational Institute (EI)
of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the American
Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AH&LF),” Burba added.
The invitation process for the expected 150 speakers in over 40 sessions
is underway and should be completed by the end of September. ALIS will
offer several unique programming features for the investment community,
including the “Go Ask ALIS” series, where experts and attendees will
meet face-to-face to discuss and learn from each other. The innovative
“Town Hall” series will feature lively debates on controversial topics
and will be held on the floor of the exhibit hall.
According to Burba, the preliminary ALIS brochures containing
comprehensive details about the ALIS schedule will be hitting the
mailboxes of hotel industry leaders during the first week of September.
Registration for the event is now open, with an “early bird” fee of USD
$1,100 available until November 1, 2001. A registration form will be
included in the brochure, and an online version is available at
www.ALISconference.com . A complete list of ALIS sponsors and supporters
also appears at the website.
ALIS is scheduled for February 3-5, 2002 at the new Renaissance
Hollywood Hotel and Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California and is
hosted and co-produced by Burba Hotel Network (BHN) and AH&LA. A
substantial portion of the ALIS proceeds will go to the EI and AH&LF to
benefit hospitality educational programs nationwide. |
