Readers of one
of Europe’s leading travel magazines have highlighted the status of the
Al Bustan Palace Inter-Continental Hotel in Muscat as one of the world’s
premier hotels.
Re-opening on October 1, following a major refurbishment, the Al Bustan
Palace has been named by readers of the authoritative Conde Nast Travel
magazine in the top 20 ‘best of the best” hotels in its annual Top 100
table.
It is the latest in a long line of prestigious awards gained by the Al
Bustan Palace, which earlier this year was named the “Middle East’s
Leading Hotel”, based on a travel agents’ internet poll conducted by the
World Travel Awards.
“We know people expect world class from the Al Bustan Palace and this
confirms we are providing it,” says Issa al Hajri, general manager of
the Al Bustan Palace Inter-Continental Hotel and regional
vice-president, operations, Six Continents Hotels.
“Considering that people judged the hotel prior to the refurbishment,
its visitors will certainly be overwhelmed by what we will have to offer
from October 1 both in terms of décor and design and the greater levels
of service from our staff.”
The refurbishment has created new benchmarks in aesthetics,
accommodation, service and leisure activities in the Gulf’s competitive
market.
The hotel’s accommodation instills a sense of the contemporary while
remaining true to the timelessness and quality of workmanship evident in
classical and art deco era designs.
From the grand lobby to its catering, the refurbished Al Bustan Palace
will exude quality, comfort and elegance with a modernity that does not
intrude on the integrity of its designs and décor which captures the
historical and cultural characteristics of its idyllic location.
Recreation facilities will be of the highest standard expected of a
hotel of its standing, with a luxury spa opening next March.
Business guests will have access to a new and larger business centre
designed to make the transition from home to the Al Bustan Palace more
seamless. There is 24-hour computer assistance for improved
technological connectivity and improved business facilitation
attractions such as multi-functional meeting and conference rooms to
accommodate from one-on-one discussions to hundreds of delegates.
Owned by the Government of The Sultanate of Oman, the Al Bustan Palace
Inter-Continental Hotel opened in 1985 when it hosted the annual
conference of the leaders of the GCC countries. |
