Cathay Pacific
Airways will resume its service between Hong Kong and Colombo, Sri Lanka
from 1 December. As before, all flights on the three-times-a-week return
service will be routed through Bangkok. The service has been suspended
since 24 July when there was a drop in demand following an incident at
Colombos Bandaranaike International Airport.
Cathay Pacific's Director and Chief Operating Officer Philip Chen said:
"We are delighted to announce the resumption of the service between Hong
Kong and Colombo, which is one of the important leisure and trade
destinations in South Asia. As Hong Kong's airline, we are committed to
maintaining a strong network. The Hong Kong-Colombo service will
strengthen tourism and trade links between the two places and enhance
Hong Kong's position as Asia's leading aviation hub."
