Air
Canada has named Mary Jordan to the position of Senior Vice President,
International and British Columbia. Based at the carrier's offices in
Vancouver, she is responsible for all aspects of the airline's customer
service, sales and operations outside of Canada and the United States,
as well as for providing direct leadership for the company's operations
in British Columbia, including its Vancouver hub and field sales in
British Columbia.
"Mary's record of providing solid leadership and extensive experience in
the airline business will serve her well as she heads up our
international operations," said Robert Milton, President and Chief
Executive Officer.
"Mary's mandate is to ensure the strong performance of our Asian gateway
hub at Vancouver, while maximizing all opportunities to strengthen our
international network in this current environment for the global airline
industry."
Jordan has held the position of Senior Vice President at Air Canada
since July 2000 when Air Canada completed its acquisition of Canadian
Airlines where she was Senior Vice President, Customer Service &
Operations. Most recently, she headed the planning of Air Canada's
low-fare carrier initiative as President in 2001.
Jordan began her airline career in at American Airlines where she was
appointed Vice President, Human Resources in 1993 and subsequently
President of Wings West Airlines (American Eagle) until she moved to
Canada to head Canadian Regional Airlines from 1996 until 1998.
In 1997, Jordan was a recipient of "Canada's Top 40 Under 40" award, an
honour she shares with Air Canada's President and CEO, Robert Milton.
Air Canada provides scheduled and charter air transportation for
passengers and cargo to more than 150 destinations on five continents.
Canada's flag carrier is the 10th largest commercial airline in the
world and serves more than 30 million customers annually with a fleet
