Air New
Zealand is currently seeking expressions of interest in nzski.com,
consisting of its three leading ski fields - Coronet Peak, The
Remarkables and Mt Hutt.
In announcing the move, Air New Zealand Executive Director Roger France
said that currently the company is reviewing all aspects of its
activities as it seeks to restore the business to financial health.
"Air New Zealand is facing an extremely challenging period and at a time
when the airline is working hard to review all parts of its operations,
it is also looking to realise investments in non-core assets."
"As part of this process, we are investigating the potential for selling
our valuable ski field interests - nzski.com is a strong and successful
business with sound opportunity for further development, " he said.
Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are located at Queenstown , New
Zealand's premier ski holiday destination. Mt Hutt is located near
Christchurch and is the leading ski area in the Canterbury region.
All three ski fields, collectively known as nzski.com, are operated by
the Mount Cook Group, a subsidiary company of Air New Zealand. They are
subject to ground leases administered by the Department of Conservation.
