Marriott
International’s Hong Kong regional office today announced the
appointment of Jeff Crowe as Director of Marketing, Thailand. This is
the first above individual property sales person for Marriott in Asia.
Kent Maury, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Asia Pacific said, “We
saw the need for this new position as Marriott continues to expand its
portfolio in Thailand. With Jeff’s extensive knowledge of Southeast Asia
and his solid sales and marketing skills, he is well-qualified to
oversee our Thailand operations.”
Paul Toner, Area Director of Marketing, also commented, “Jeff’s
responsibility will be to develop a cohesive sales team representing the
JW Marriott properties in addition to reservations to facilitate
customer needs. ‘Making it easier to do business with Marriott’ is our
ultimate aim for Thailand and the rest of the world.”
As Director of Marketing, Thailand, Mr Crowe will be responsible for
managing sales effort and sales revenue for all JW Marriott properties
in Thailand. He will also spearhead sales and marketing initiatives for
the new Marriott property – the JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa, a 265
room resort which is integrated with Marriott’s Phuket Beach club, a 144
Marriott Vacations Club resort in Phuket, both scheduled to open in
December 2001.
Area Vice President Ed Hubennette said, “In addition to the Bangkok
Marriott Resort and Spa and the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok, the coming JW
Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa will well-position Marriott as an
industry leader in Thailand. As a result, Jeff plays a very important
role in ensuring that our objectives are met.”
Jeff Crowe has over 20 years of hotel experience, particularly in
Southeast Asia, China and the United States. Prior to joining Marriott
International, he was the Area Director of Marketing, Peninsula Malaysia
for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. In the capacity he was responsible
for the marketing efforts of city-center hotels in Kuala Lumpur and
Penang, as well as two landmark resorts, also located in Penang.
He holds a bachelor degree from the Stetson University in Florida and a
Master of Professional Studies (Hotel Administration) degree from
Cornell University in New York. |
