The Government
of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is
currently leading a ten-strong Dubai public sector delegation to India
in a drive to attract increased inward investment and promote trade
relations from 24th to 28th September.
A series of roadshows have been planned in four major Indian cities
including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Mumbai.
"Forceful marketing measures are needed to maintain the momentum of
growth and provide the necessary impetus to attract more foreign
investment and promote bilateral trade," said DTCM Director General,
Khalid A. bin Sulayem.
"A joint approach to investment promotion and combined promotion and
marketing of available investment opportunities by pulling together as a
cohesive unit will help Dubai achieve more in terms of attracting
foreign direct investment," stressed Mr. bin Sulayem.
He noted that this first-ever joint promotion in India by the department
was part of a powerful investment strategy for further developing Dubai
as the trading hub of the Middle East. "Dubai is being geared to play an
increasingly meaningful role in international trade and thereby assuming
its rightful position in the global economy," said Mr. bin Sulayem.
The Dubai team at the event will comprise DTCM officials as well as
representatives from: Dubai Investments, Dubai Investments Park
Development Co. LLC, Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce & Media Free
Zone Authority, EMAAR, Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation,
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dubai Cargo Village, Dubai Airport
Free Zone Authority and Emirates.
DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Ibrahim Ahli will be representing the
department at the event. "We will commence our drive with a press
conference in Delhi, the political capital of India by briefing the
national media about the advantages of using Dubai as a business base,"
he said.
Middle and senior level executives as well as leading industrialists
will attend the roadshows organised by the DTCM with confirmations from
as many as 600 delegates at the four venues. |
