All Nippon
Airways (ANA), announced it will utilize independent internet portal,
Jet-A.com for the procurement of jet fuel, upon inauguration of services
in the second quarter of 2001.
Jet-A.com is a solution by the world’s oil and aviation industries in
recognition that the fuel supply chain still leaves room for improvement
with the application of internet technologies.
The portal was conceived to optimize the jet fuel supply chain by
digitizing, integrating and standardizing the procurement process.
The portal includes the world’s six oil majors (Air BP, Chevron,
ExxonMobil, Shell, Texaco, TotalElfFina) and airline industry B2B
consortiums Aeroexchange and Air Newco.
ANA is actively employing the remarkable innovations of Information
Technology. By applying these advantages in a number of fields, ANA aims
to achieve unsurpassed efficiencies and unparalleled competitive
strength in the airline industry.
In addition to joining Aeroexchange, ANA has announced its participation
in the B2C marketplace with Kokunaisen.com, a web site selling domestic
airline tickets and a new overseas travel portal site (as yet unnamed)
providing consumers in Japan with overseas travel products and services.
