NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR MELIÁ PUROSANI

Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts, the leading European hotel chain, today announced the appointment of Mr. Fredrick Arul as the General Manager for Meliá Purosani in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Mr. Arul brings to the position more than 17 years of international experience, having held senior management positions in the hospitality industry throughout Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa.

Prior to his appointment as General Manager of Meliá Purosani, Mr. Arul was based in Spain as the Corporate Director of Food & Beverage for Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts, where he spearheaded the development of global F&B initiatives for the Group's 350 properties in 30 countries. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of Meliá Benoa All-Inclusive Resort (Bali, Indonesia).

A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Manoa and Cornell University, Mr. Arul is fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Cantonese.
