Taipei’s first
super deluxe all-suites hotel joins SRS-WORLDHOTELS
SRS-WORLDHOTELS, one of the world’s leading and most dynamic hotel
marketing and representation consortia, has announced its latest member
as the Evergreen Laurel Taipei, the first all-suites hotel in the
Taiwanese capital, which has its grand opening on October 22.
The Evergreen Laurel Taipei, which joins SRS-WORLDHOTELS premium hotel
category, the deluxe collection, is a 71-suite ultra luxurious boutique
hotel in the heart of Taipei’s financial district, and will be the
flagship property of Taiwan transportation conglomerate, The Evergreen
Group. Besides Evergreen International Hotels, the Group also owns an
international shipping line and EVA Air, Taiwan’s first privately owned
international airline.
The design of this unique hotel is inspired by the Evergreen Group
Chairman Y F Chang’s personal luxury mega yacht and features the finest
Italian furniture, hand-crafted Dutch gold-plated sinks and taps, and
the latest audio-visual communications facilities including
radiation-free wide-screen plasma TVs. Each room is also adorned with an
original work of art from Chairman Chang’s personal collection.
Located in the financial district of Taipei, the hotel is close to the
Taipei train station, Sungchiang Interchange and Nanking-Chunghsiao
shopping district. It includes an international-style fine dining
restaurant with an open-kitchen and European-style decoration called
Evergarden, and the Oriental Spa, an entire floor with eight excusive
private therapy rooms devoted to relaxation, rejuvenation and pampering
in simple zen-style surroundings.
Mr Roland Jegge, Vice President Asia/Pacific for SRS-WORLDHOTELS said.
“We are delighted to welcome this brand new and elegant hotel, which
will serve to further strengthen our presence in Taiwan”.
SRS-WORLDHOTELS existing members in Taiwan include The Howard Plaza
Taipei, The Ambassador Taipei and The Ambassador Hsinchu – all of them
part of the SRS Deluxe Collection.
Currently, SRS-WORLDHOTELS has almost 400 member hotels in its
portfolio, representing over 70,000 rooms in 65 countries and 250
destinations worldwide.
In 2000, SRS-WORLDHOTELS generated over 1.2 million room nights for its
members and a total turnover of US$192 million – an increase of 17% over
the previous year.
SRS-WORDLHOTELS’ Asia/Pacific operation has grown dramatically to 20
staff in four offices around the region. The company has over 50
properties in Asia/Pacific and SRS-WORLDHOTELS saw an increase of over
40% in its room night production from the Asia Pacific region in 2000.
