Half-price
special fares available for single round-trip bookings also offer more
convenience and flexibility for business travelers
United Airlines today announced the offer of new special First and
Business class fares that dramatically cut the cost of travel from Hong
Kong to any of the 220 U.S. cities that United and United Express serve.
Depending on the destination chosen, these represent more than 50 per
cent discount on normal rates during the season at only HK$40,000 for a
United First round-trip ticket and HK$20,000 for a United Business
round-trip ticket to any United or United Express cities. One free
stopover in the routing is also included. The new fares are available
for purchase through December 20, 2001 and travel must be completed by
July 31, 2002.
In addition, and as an added bonus, United is offering a free upgrade
bonus for travel between Hong Kong and Tokyo. All customers who take
advantage of the new First and Business class fares will receive two
complimentary one-cabin upgrade certificates upon check-in at Hong Kong
International Airport. These certificates are valid for use through
March 31, 2002 on any fare for travel on United’s Hong Kong-Tokyo
flights.
“Unlike some other options in the market which require travelers make a
commitment to buy more than one ticket at the same time, United is
demonstrating its own commitment to Hong Kong by offering the best
benefits with the most convenience for business travelers,” said Nicolas
E. Ferri, United’s General Sales Manager for Hong Kong.
“In the fast changing world of business, we fully understand that
business travelers need advance planning for their travel, yet
flexibility has to be built in to their plans. These First and Business
fares are designed to take care of this, while offering great savings
for customers. Travelers can buy as many tickets as they want, to as
many destinations as they need to go to during this period, and enjoy
the same great savings every time.”
All the United B747-400 aircraft which serve out of Hong Kong feature
the United First Suite, a lie-flat sleeper seat that converts from an
airborne office, and enhanced Business Class configuration for 20 per
cent more personal space.
“We are making every effort to reward the customers who choose United.
These new fares are just one of our initiatives. Others include the
ongoing onboard enhancement program and a series of Mileage Plus
offers,” added Mr Ferri.
United is also offering very competitive fares representing great value
for money for travel in Economy Class. Mileage Plus, United’s award
winning frequent flyer program, has already announced double miles
offers, travel award sale and new premier member qualification criteria
for 2002.
United Airlines offers nearly 1,650 flights a day on a network that
