Respected
tourism industry leaders will analyse new and controversial tourism
marketing trends during the Pacific Asia Travel Association's Travel
Mart Educational Forum 2001, April 3, in Singapore.
The powerful line-up of speakers will focus primarily on destination
marketing, management and aviation issues during the interactive
full-day event organised by TravelWeeklyEast.
At 0900 Mr. John Morse, Managing Director of the Australian Tourist
Commission will keynote the forum with an address called "Top Trends in
Destination Marketing." In the following panel discussion Mr. Roy Tan
Hardy, Senior Vice-President-Marketing and Sales, Millennium & Copthorne
International will join the debate.
After the coffee break, the second session called "The Future in
Destination Management," will discuss the impact of consolidation among
European principals, price competition and technology on Asia's ground
handling business.
Panellists will include Tour East Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Ms.
Judy Lum, Panorama Managing Director, Mr Dharma Tirtawisata and Asian
Trails Myanmar Managing Director, Mr. Laurent Kuenzle.
The third session on aviation after lunch will include Mr. Prithpal
Singh, director of Myanmar Airways International and Mr. Rob Coldman,
Regional Sales and Marketing Manager-Southeast Asia, for British
Airways/Qantas.
The forum acts as a curtain raiser to three days of business
appointments during the Mart. "We thank TravelWeeklyEast for putting
this solid programme together. They've really made an effort to deliver
a content-first forum which delivers provocative food for thought," said
Reed Travel Director, Sales & Marketing, Mr. Andrew Lee. "Opinions from
the floor are very much part of this interactive forum."
The one-day seminar, being held at the Singapore International
Convention & Exhibition Centre (SICEC), will be moderated by Ms. Yeoh
Siew Hoon, Editorial Director, TravelWeeklyEast.
The PATA Travel Mart Educational Forum 2001 takes place 0900-1600 at
