AIRLINES ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO CAP ON COMMISSION STRUCTURE

United
Airlines (NYSE: UAL) announced today it is restructuring its travel
agency cap on commission for tickets issued by travel agents in the
United States and Canada for all domestic fares effective August 23,
2001 at 12:01 a.m. (CST).
The new U.S. commission cap is effective for all tickets issued in the
U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) for travel
within the U.S. and between the U.S. and Canada. The new policy will pay
a base of five percent (5%) with a cap of $20 (USD) for round-trip
travel and a cap of $10 (USD) for one-way travel. The caps are currently
$50 and $25 respectively.
For tickets issued in Canada for travel between the U.S. and Canada and
within the U.S., the policy will pay a base rate of five percent (5%)
with a cap of $28 (CAD) for round-trip travel and a cap of $14 (CAD) for
one-way travel. The caps today are $70 (CAD) and $35 (CAD),
respectively.
United will have no further comment on this matter.
