JOHN SEGRETI RESIGNS FROM SHANGRI-LA HOTELS AND RESORTS

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announces the resignation of John Segreti as Chief Operating Officer with effect from 15 December 2001.

Mr Segreti has informed the Board of Shangri-La Asia Limited of his decision to resign and the Board has regretfully accepted his resignation. The Board has thanked him for his contributions to the Shangri-La group and wished him the very best for his future.

Giovanni Angelini, the Chief Executive of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, will assume responsibility for operations.
