Looking to
supplant drops in demand for international travel following the
September 11 terrorist incidents in the United States, the ANA Group
filed an application with the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and
Transport to operate an additional flight on the popular Tokyo - Osaka
route.
ANA Group company Air Nippon (ANK) will operate a 126 seat Boeing
B737-500 aircraft on the route beginning December 21. Ticket sales are
set to start on October 21.
“ANK is meeting the needs of travelers by providing more service between
Tokyo and Osaka, the top destinations in Japan," said Yuzuru Masumoto,
ANK President, “Together with our sister company ANA, 16 daily
roundtrips will now be offered for even greater convenience.”
Results on the shuttle for All Nippon Airways (ANA), have been nothing
short of outstanding. For the first half of fiscal 2001 passenger volume
was approximately 1.75 million, a 25% year-on-year increase that
complements the favorable overall 6% increase on the company’s extensive
domestic network.
ANK Flight 901 will depart Tokyo/Haneda at 6:40 a.m. and arrive in
Osaka/Kansai at 7:55 a.m. ANK Flight 902 departs Osaka/Kansai at 6:40
a.m., arriving in Tokyo/Haneda at 7:45 a.m. All times are local.
