AMERICAN TO
ADD DAILY NONSTOPS TO BOTH HONOLULU AND MAUI; AA WILL ALSO FLY LOS
ANGELES TO KAILUA-KONA
American Airlines has announced that it will increase its existing
service this fall between Los Angeles and both Honolulu and Maui, and
also begin flying Los Angeles – Kailua-Kona.
American will add a third daily nonstop flight between Los Angeles and
Honolulu on Oct. 1 and a second daily nonstop between Los Angeles and
Maui on Nov. 1. Those markets will also retain their current
Saturday-only flights.
On Sept. 5, American will begin flying nonstop between Los Angeles and
Kailua-Kona, a route that TWA will discontinue effective Sept. 4, as
part of the ongoing consolidation of its schedule with American.
American will use the 176-seat Boeing 757 aircraft with More Room
Throughout Coach for More Coach Passengers.
"Our customers will really be excited about these additional
opportunities to fly to Hawaii, either on business or pleasure," said
Henry Joyner, American’s senior vice president for planning. "Year in
and year out, the islands are always one of our most popular
destinations."
Joyner said the additional Honolulu and Maui flights would give American
12 flights a day between Hawaii and the U.S. Mainland, including the
only major airline nonstop service to Hawaii three times a day from
Dallas/Fort Worth and once a day from Chicago |
