Six Continents
Hotels has promoted two general managers to regional positions in charge
of its growing number of resort properties in Egypt.
Magdi Takla, General Manager of the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort,
is promoted to Regional Director of Operations, Red Sea Resorts.
Robert Zoghbi moves from his position as General Manager of the Regency
Inter-Continental Bahrain to become General Manager of the Sharm El
Sheikh Inter-Continental Resort, which opens in March next year, and is
promoted to Regional Director of Operations, Sinai Resorts.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Takla worked in the hotel
industry in Egypt where he held a variety of operations and rooms
division positions. He later worked for Westin and Movenpick, before
joining the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort in 1997 as Resident
Manager.
Zoghbi studied hotel and restaurant management in the US, and held a
number of F&B positions before joining the Borobudur Inter-Continental
Hotel Jakarta as F&B Director in 1990. Since then, he has been Resident
Manager of the Hotel Inter-Continental Abu Dhabi, and General Manager of
both the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort and the Regency
Inter-Continental Bahrain.
Six Continents Hotels, formerly known as Bass Hotels & Resorts, operates
six Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in Egypt
where the company also has ten properties under development. |
