"We're very excited by the prospect of starting service between Houston
and Amsterdam," said Barry Simon, Continental's Senior Vice

"This is the third European city we serve on a nonstop basis from
Houston, and our first opportunity to begin a new transatlantic route
from here since we began flights to Paris in 1992."
Continental launched a daily nonstop service between New York/Newark and
Amsterdam on July 16, 1999. The new service to Amsterdam will provide
the opportunity to connect with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for travel
onward to points throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Continental's Houston-Amsterdam flights will be operated with a 235-seat
Boeing 767-400ER aircraft, carrying 35 passengers in the BusinessFirst
cabin and 200 in Economy. These new aircraft feature a two-class seating
configuration, consisting of 2-1-2 in BusinessFirst and 2-3-2 in
Economy, designed to give most passengers a window or aisle seat.
Every seat on the aircraft has an individual video screen and satellite
telephone. The aircraft is equipped with oversized overhead storage
bins, adjustable winged headrests, laptop computer power ports at every
seat in BusinessFirst and select rows in Economy, a cappuccino coffee
machine and eight lavatories including one with wheelchair access. The
new flights will feature Continental's award-winning BusinessFirst
service, voted Best Long-Haul Executive/Business Class in the OAG
Airline of the Year Awards 2001. This premium-class cabin features
extra-wide electronic sleeper seats with 55-inch/140-cm pitch,
adjustable winged headrests and personal video screens. Other
BusinessFirst amenities include gourmet menus and award-winning wines
and champagnes. The 767 provides "no-neighbor" seats in the center
