ANA announces International Itinerary Schedule Changes for Autumn

Travel News Asia Date: 16 October 2001

Reflecting fluctuations in demand for international travel due to the terrorist incidents in the United States, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has submitted applications to the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport for changes in the ANA Group international schedule for autumn.

Responding to current trends, ANA will integrate daily non-stop trans-Pacific service on its Tokyo –Chicago and Tokyo – Washington routes to Tokyo-Chicago-Washington from November 1 – 29 and in conjunction with Air Japan (AJX) will reduce scheduled flights between Osaka (Kansai) and Guam from nine flights a week to seven (as announced on October 3) from October 28-December 19, representing a 20% reduction in service to the United States.

Reorganizing its network, ANA will expand operations between Tokyo and Seoul where demand has been robust from one flight a week to seven*. Flights to China will also grow as service between Tokyo and Dalian is increased from one flight a week (Tuesday) to two (Tuesday, Wednesday). These changes will occur from November 1 – 29.

Service between Nagoya and Honolulu will be suspended from the winter schedule, beginning October 28. This application has already been filed with the government and was not calculated as a part of the 20% reduction mentioned above. Schedule planning for December is currently under review, changes will be announced as they are decided.

*Daily departures from Narita, flights from Seoul depart daily except on Wednesday, with two flights on

Thursdays.
