Tamer Massoud,
a familiar face in the hospitality industry in the Middle East and
Africa, has been appointed General Manager of the Pyramids Park
Inter-Continental Resort in Egypt.
Massoud is backed by more than 30 years’ experience with
Inter-Continental hotels, having held a variety of positions in Kabul,
Libreville, Kinshasa, and at the former Inter-Continental headquarters
in New York.
After a short spell with other international hotel chains, he was
appointed resident manager of the Riyadh Inter-Continental in Saudi
Arabia, later becoming General Manager of the Regency Inter-Continental
Bahrain. In 1999, he took charge of the Inter-Continental Hotel Asmara,
completing a successful opening of the new property in the Eritrean
capital under extremely difficult circumstances.
"We're pleased to be able to confirm the appointment of someone with
Tamer Massoud's experience to oversee the Pyramids Park
Inter-Continental Resort.” said Raymond Khalifé, president, Bass Hotels
& Resorts, Middle East and Africa.
The former Pyramids Park Hotel, which overlooks Egypt’s most famous
monuments, underwent a significant renovation for its elevation to the
upscale Inter-Continental brand earlier this year. It is one of three
Inter-Continental properties managed by Six Continents Hotels in Egypt,
where the company will open nine new Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and
Holiday Inn hotels within the next two years. |
