All Nippon
Airways (ANA) today announced it will place its “NH” code on four bmi
british midland operated routes between London (Heathrow) – Manchester,
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. In total, 56 flights a week effective
September 1, 2001.
“We aim to be the ‘first choice’ of passengers traveling between Japan
and the United Kingdom and are delighted to expand our global network
with Star Alliance partner, bmi british midland,” said Kazuhisa Shin,
ANA’s Executive Vice President, Alliances, “By providing ANA customers
flying from Tokyo to London with connecting service on bmi british
midland we are reaffirming our commitment to providing the highest
levels of comfort and convenience.
As members of Star Alliance, the airline network for Earth, ANA and bmi
british midland strive to offer travelers seamless air transportation
service with the usual benefits including, through check-in, lounge
access and reciprocal frequent flyer programs that qualify toward top
tier status.
ANA, which transported more than 43 million passengers in 2000, serves
35 gateways in Japan and 25 cities in 12 countries around the world and
is the largest carrier in Asia as measured by number of passengers
