Marriott
International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) has announced that Teri Merritt was
named regional director of international field marketing for Continental
Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Africa. Ms. Merritt will
report to Susan Thronson, senior vice president, international brands
and operations marketing.
In this position, Ms. Merritt is responsible for the development of
integrated marketing communications programs, training and resource
materials sponsored by Marriott International, hotel clusters and
individual hotels within the Marriott Hotels Resorts & Suites;
Renaissance Hotels & Resorts; Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott
Executive Apartments brands.
“We are very excited to have Teri join us in the international field
marketing department. She brings a wealth of knowledge to this position.
She has a strong background in advertising and marketing as well as 10
years at Marriott,” said Ms. Thronson.
Since joining Marriott in 1990 as the regional director of field
marketing for the Southeast United States, Ms. Merritt has held
positions of increasing responsibilities in marketing and communications
for the company. She was most recently senior director of field
marketing North America. Ms. Merritt worked for several advertising
agencies before joining Marriott.
Ms. Merritt has won several awards for her work, including two bronze
and one silver HSMAI Adrian Advertising Excellence Awards in 1996 and
1999; the Marriott International Southeast Regional Marketing
Communications Leadership Award in 1995 and 1996; and the Kapel Award
for Multimedia Interactive Resort Kiosk in 1996.
A native of Florida, Ms. Merritt and her husband, Steve, are relocating
to London. |
