The
following is an update on the status of Millennium & Copthorne ’s hotel
operations in New York.
“Millennium & Copthorne’s portfolio comprises four hotels in New York.
The Millenium Hilton, which is operated by Hilton Hotels Corporation, is
some 200 yards from the World Trade Centre. The building has sustained
some unquantified damage and will be closed for the foreseeable future.
The property is fully insured, including for loss of business,”
according to Mr. John Wilson, Chief Executive of Millennium & Copthorne
Hotels plc.
New York City officials will advise on an infrastructure audit of the
property and they are expected to conduct structural inspections soon.
“The other three hotels in New York, the Millennium Hotel, Broadway,
Millennium Hotel, United Nations and The Plaza will continue to trade
normally,” added Mr Wilson.
“The long-term implications of Tuesday’s events are still being
assessed.”
M&C is the London-listed hotel arm of Hong Leong Group Singapore.
