Macau Runs Election for "Best Taxi Driver"

To encourage taxi drivers to provide quality services to the passengers, an election for "Best Driver" has launched. It is jointly organized by the Provisional Municipal Council of Macau and the Macau Consumer Council.

Passengers, including tourists, are welcome to nominate taxi drivers to compete for the award during the period between August 15 - October 15. Passengers who wish to commend taxi drivers may just fill in a simple nomination form which can be obtained from the taxi drivers, Consumer Council, Provisional Municipal Council of Macau and the Macau Government Tourist Office etc. Passengers can return the completed nomination forms to 13 ballot boxes allocated around the city, and they will receive a souvenir by bringing in the second half of the nomination form to the form distribution locations.

Under the award scheme, taxi drivers will be assessed in accordance to the following criteria:

- Manner, politeness of the driver
- Degree of safe ride
- Familiarity with routing etc.

The result of the nomination will be announced in November. Each winner will be presented a Best Driver badge( that can be placed on his/her employee's ID card) and a trophy cup.
