A virtual tour
of the new Emirates SkyCargo Centre at the airline's Dubai hub is just
one of the major new features of the Emirates cargo division's new
website.
The new website - which has just gone live - provides users with more
information about products and services, simpler navigation, greater
transparency of cargo operations and a free screensaver to download. It
has been produced by the Emirates Group's Corporate Communications
department in liaison with Emirates SkyCargo's marketing unit.
The URL is the same: www.sky-cargo.com . This is the Emirates SkyCargo's
marketing site. It offers easy access at the touch of a button to
www.skychain.com , the division's operational site, plus access to all
other sites in the Emirates Group.
The look and feel of the new website is cool and elegant with clear
layout and fonts. The home page features SkyChain, the division's
state-of-the-art logistics and information management system; the
screensaver, which highlights the awards three years in a row of the
Cargo Airline of the Year title from Air Cargo News; and Hyderabad, the
latest addition to the route network.
The home page sets the style for the rest of the website. On each page a
menu is provided at the left and a flash banner at the top highlights a
different destination.
In addition, a tracking facility is provided at the top right-hand
corner of every single page enabling customers to track shipments simply
by keying in either an air waybill number or a Job Record Number
(assigned to every booking record).
The site provides everything from the mission statement to details of
the trucking system. Users have at their fingertips press releases,
advertising campaigns, the quarterly newsletter, Cargo Update, and the
tour of the Emirates SkyCargo Centre located in the Air Cargo Village at
Dubai International Airport.
This groundbreaking facility has been designed specifically to handle
the Emirates SkyCargo product and incorporates a number of innovative
features such as the Telxon hand-held terminals which scan and send data
by radio frequency.
Cargo Marketing Manager Prakash Nair said: "We have tried to give as
much information as possible to the customer and at the same time make
the site attractive and easy to navigate. We have made our operations
even more transparent, added more information on products and services
and given prominence to SkyChain and new destinations." |
