Six Continents
Hotels has introduced a universal Global Distribution System (GDS) chain
code for its global hotel brands.
The new code – 6C – allows travel agents to book accommodation at all
Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels and resorts
around the world using GDS. Parkroyal and Centra hotels in Australia,
New Zealand and South Pacific (ANZSP) will remain accessible by using
the SP chain code.
The linked codes will make it easier for the 140,000 travel agents
worldwide using GDS every day to access information on the Six
Continents Hotels global brands.
“The consolidation of our global brands under one code will streamline
the booking process for our travel partners,” said Six Continents Hotels
Chief Operation Officer, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific
(ANZSP), Tony South.
“Travel agents accessing GDS are also no longer required to use the
CD-field whenever booking negotiated rates.”
Six Continents Hotels’ South Pacific Reservation Centre based in Sydney,
joins Amsterdam and Atlanta as the Group’s three GDS help desks,
ensuring 24 hour global assistance for travel agents, world-wide. |
