Marriott
International Inc. (NYSE: MAR) announced the opening of the 286-room
Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention Center. This is the second
Renaissance hotel and the fifth Marriott International property in
India.
The Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention Center is offering an opening
rate of US$169 a night. The hotel is owned by C.L.Raheja. The general
manager is Rajeev Menon.
Situated on the banks of Powai Lake, the hotel is on the north side of
the city and in close proximity to both the domestic and international
airports.
For meetings and social gatherings, the hotel features the largest
convention center in India with over 80,000 square-feet of indoor and
outdoor space. The Grand Ballroom measures 13,000 square-feet and can
accommodate 1,700 people theater style. In addition, the two-story
Terrace, the Powai Ballroom and the 15 salons and boardrooms offer
additional meeting space.
Each room offers a full range of amenities, including a working desk,
two telephones with voicemail and computer data ports. Other hotel
amenities include a comprehensive fitness center, outdoor swimming pool,
24-hour room service, laundry/valet services, business center and
executive lounge.
For dining and entertainment, the Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention
Center offers Chinese, Indian and Italian specialty restaurants; the
Lakeside Café, which operates 24-hours a day and serves American and
Indian food; the “A Bar,” which features live entertainment nightly; and
the Poolside Bar, which serves tropical cocktails poolside.
Marriott International is represented in India by the Marriott,
Renaissance, Marriott Executive Apartments and Ramada International
brands. A JW Marriott hotel in Mumbai will open later this year. |
