Latest resort
property shows Accor’s commitment to Indonesia
Accor has signed a contract to manage the Mercure Kuta Bali, sending a
strong signal to the travel trade of its continued confidence and
commitment to tourism development in Indonesia.
The 130-room hotel will open for business on 15 December in time for the
coming peak travel season to Indonesia. The Mercure Kuta Bali is located
in the centre of Bali’s most famous beach in the heart of Kuta’s
entertainment, dining and shopping area. Designed using as many
indigenous materials as possible in contemporary Balinese style, the
Mercure Kuta Bali mixes traditional thatched roofs with modern furniture
and design motifs.
Accor’s Director of Operations Indonesia, Gerard Guillouet, said the
Mercure Kuta Bali demonstrates that Accor, as the largest international
hotel management company operating in Indonesia, was continuing to
invest in the country’s future.
“The fact Mercure Kuta Bali is opening this December, when the global
tourism industry is facing one of its biggest challenges ever, indicates
the confidence Accor has in Indonesia.
“As the industry leader with a network of 25 hotels in Indonesia, Accor
is confident that Mercure Kuta Bali will boost the popularity of Kuta
beach amongst overseas holiday makers.
“And as the newest resort hotel on Kuta Beach, we believe it will convey
a fresh sense of Balinese hospitality blended with international service
standards and efficiency at an affordable rate.”
The low-rise building features a roof-top restaurant and swimming pool,
both with dramatic views of Kuta Bay and its famous sunsets. The Bale
Bengong adjoins the swimming pool offering traditional massage in a
relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
The resort has a compact tropical courtyard, a meeting room for up to 60
participants, and all rooms have balconies or terraces on the ground
floor. The hotel’s Alang-alang Restaurant offers delicious international
cuisine and features a wide variety of Asian and western dishes in
addition to a daily theme dinner buffet.
According to Mr Guillouet, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany,
Italy and Japan would be the main source markets for the Mercure Kuta
Bali.
The property represents an important addition to Accor’s expanding
Mercure network in key beach destinations around Southeast Asia. Accor
recently signed a management contract for the Panwa Beach Resort in
Phuket, which will be rebranded Mercure Panwa Beach Resort by May next
year. Accor also manages the Mercure Coralia Resort on Koh Samui. |
