Flight West
Airlines today announced a special $99 one way fare to mark its return
to the Brisbane-Gladstone route - a discount of 70% off the previous
full economy fare.
The airline, under the control of liquidator Mr Ian Hall of
PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brisbane, will resume twice daily services
from Wednesday, 14 November.
All services will be operated with 30-seat Embraer Brasilia turboprop
aircraft, crewed by two pilots and a flight attendant. Passengers will
be offered tea, coffee and biscuits during the 70 minute flight.
Mr Hall said the airline would offer a range of fares, from the $99
introductory rate to a fully-flexible full economy fare of $231 one way.
Children aged under 11 years will be entitled to a discount of 30 per
cent off the full fare, while infants aged up to two years and not
occupying a seat will travel free of charge.
Flight AN5822 will depart Brisbane at 8.25am daily, arriving in
Gladstone at 9.35am
It will depart Gladstone at 10.30am as flight AN 5823, arriving in
Brisbane at 11.40am.
At 2.30pm, flight AN 5826 will leave Brisbane, again bound for
Gladstone, where it is timed to arrive at 3.40pm . Then at 4.20pm, the
aircraft will operate as flight AN 5827 arriving in Brisbane at 5.30pm.
The new flights to Gladstone will operate from the Ansett Australia
terminal at Brisbane's domestic airport. They will connect with Ansett
flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne.
Flight West's Gladstone schedule is perfectly suited for day return
trips by business travellers from Brisbane. The morning flight also
connects with onward tourist services to Heron Island, while the
afternoon flight from Gladstone connects with services returning from
Heron.
The special $99 fare is available for sale until 8 December, for travel
between 14 November and 12 February, 2002. Bookings can be made through
travel agents, via the Ansett Australia website www.Ansett.com.au, or on
Ansett's national reservation number 13 13 00, for which a telephone
booking fee of $5.50 will apply. |
