The 'Dubai
Means Business' video produced by the Government of Dubai's Department
of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has won the best video award at
the 34th International Film Festival of Films and Video-spots on Tourism
and 3rd Tourist Multimedia Festival that concluded in Karlovy Vary in
the Czech Republic recently.
The ten-minute video highlights Dubai's transformation from a leading
regional trading hub into a truly international business centre of
global significance. The DTCM uses the video to emphasize Dubai and its
commercial attractions to the international business community.
"The 'Dubai Means Business' video is a unique marketing tool that has
been designed to attract more inward investment into Dubai and our
triumph at the oldest tourist film festival in the world is a remarkable
accomplishment," said DTCM Director General, Khalid A. bin Sulayem.
He noted that the DTCM video won the award in the sub-category: videos
and films appointed to presentation of countries, national boards,
regions and cities.
"What makes this achievement even more commendable is that we won this
award in direct competition to destination videos produced by 58 other
countries," Mr. bin Sulayem remarked.
The video is shown around the world at DTCM seminars, presentations,
trade fairs and other commerce promotions. 'Dubai Means Business' is
also made available to potential investors, large corporations, TV
stations and other important third parties for their own use.
"Together with Dubai Business Handbook and Dubai in Figures, the Dubai
Means Business video makes up a comprehensive package of high quality
information materials for our commerce promotions," added Mr. bin
Sulayem.
Dubai Means Business covers all aspects of the emirate's business
environment, focusing on the potential and opportunities for trade,
distribution, manufacturing and regional office operations.
The Czech Tourist Authority under the aegis of the Ministry for regional
development organizes the film festival every year in the traditional
venue, the famous Czech spa town and film festival city, in Karlovy
Vary.
The festival is a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film
Festivals (C.I.F.F.T.) based in Vienna. In 2001, a record-breaking
number of 102 countries presented 365 films and multimedia. |
