Australian
Tourist Commission (ATC) Deputy Managing Director Bill Calderwood today
announced his resignation from the Commission departing on July 17 2001.
Mr Calderwood leaves the ATC after six years of employment, including
over four years as the Deputy Managing Director.
“The past six years have been challenging, exciting and very
satisfying,” Mr Calderwood said. “The friendships and contacts I have
made during this time are treasured and I thank the tourism industry for
the support it has shown me and the organisation during this time.
“The future holds many new opportunities and I am currently exploring
these with enthusiasm.”
ATC Chairman, Nick Evers said Mr Calderwood had made a significant
contribution to the ATC and Australia’s tourism industry over the past
few years.
“Bill leaves the Commission with the thanks and best wishes of all those
ATC Board members and staff with whom he has worked,” Mr Evers said.
“He is respected for his impeccable personal integrity as well as for
the high level of professionalism with which he handled the diverse
issues that crossed his desk.
"We wish him every success in his future endeavours."
Mr Calderwood was appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director
in January 1997 after joining the organisation as General Manager
Marketing Operations in 1995. |
