Renaissance
Seoul Hotel announces the appointment of its new General Manager, Mr
Roderick James Lowe as of June 1st, 2001.
U.K. born, Mr Lowe graduated with a BA (Accounting) from Queensland
Technical College Australia. He began his hotel career in 1964 with the
Four Seasons Hotel in Canada, and has taken various management courses
through Marriott and the Wharton School of Finance. Noted for his
specialist skills in Food & Beverage and Accounting, Mr Lowe has
excelled as a General Manager in ten hotels worldwide. He has been
associated with Sonesta Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel, and also with
Marriott International Inc since 1984.
Mr Lowe’s last position as a General Manager was with the Renaissance
Sydney Hotel during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The Renaissance Sydney
Hotel was a headquarter hotel for the Olympic Games, and is renowned for
accommodating the Olympic National Committees from 199 Countries.
Mr Lowe, a soccer and golf enthusiast with over 37 years experience in
hospitality industry, believes that staff and guests are the most
important assets, and that “Hotel business is a ‘People Business’, I
will try my best in satisfying our guests and associates at the same
time, since they go hand in hand in a glove to make a truly great
hotel.”
