China Southern
Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People's
Republic of China has held its 6th Annual Safety Seminar here at the
company's' international headquarters at Baiyun International Airport.
Making detailed presentations at the annual conference were
representatives from the carrier's Flight Safety, Technology & Flight
Operation Departments; Hubei Branch; Shenzhen Branch; Guizhou Airlines
and Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Company (GAMECO).
Present at the seminar were China Southern Airlines' President Wang
Changshun and Vice President Jiang Ping and more than 300
representatives from the airline's Guangzhou-based headquarter
departments. "Fulfill Safety Rules & Regulations and Enhance Safety
Prevention Measures" was the main theme of the seminar and presentations
focused on the company's safety policy, safety theory and practical
working examples.
Mr. Zhou Yuehai made his presentation on behalf of the China Southern
Airlines' Flight Operation Department and put forward the premise that
China Southern Airlines should continually improve its already set forth
rules and regulations to meet the company's safety requirements. Also
from the Flight Operation Department was a theory presented by Mr. Zhang
Hongzhi, probing "Cockpit Crew Work Division and Cooperation" while
raising the issue of Crew Resources Management (CRM) and sharing his own
personal opinions.
Representing the CSN Shenzhen Branch was Mr. Chen Zhiqiang and his paper
"Four Points of Consideration to Radically Guarantee and Improve Safety
Status," outlining four major points including management departments,
rules and regulations, management information and the culture of airline
safety.
In a speech entitled "Management is the Key and Fulfillment is the
Guarantee" was made by Mr. Shen Xiangsong from Hubei Branch suggesting
the implementation of a stricter management style, rigid flight
techniques and flight crew training.
President Wang Changshun concluded the seminar by stating that, "China
Southern Airlines has successfully held six annual safety seminars … all
of these seminars have been well organized and have made a positive
impact on the Chinese aviation industry and the enhancement of our
airline company's safety mission."
He added that, "I sincerely believe that the future seminars will
continue to be as well organized as this one was with the free-flow of
ideas and discourses on aircraft safety. We must be steadfast in
strengthening all our staff's safety consciousness with all rules &
regulations and lay a solid safety foundation to ensure all of our
safety goals."
