As part of its
ongoing vow to provide the Australian public with the greatest number of
lowest air fares, Virgin Blue has launched a major seat sale, offering
flights between all destinations within its network at heavily
discounted prices.
Tens of thousands of seats will be available at the extra low prices,
including Brisbane-Sydney from $69, Brisbane-Melbourne from $109 and
Brisbane-Adelaide from $119. All prices are one way and GST inclusive.
Guests who book on-line at www.virginblue.com.au will receive a further
discount of $1 each way passing on the savings from using the web rather
than telephone calls.
Chief Executive Officer Brett Godfrey says, “While we recognise that $2
off a return flight won’t exactly allow people to invest in real estate
on the money they save, it’s about sharing the savings, regardless of
how little, with our Guests.”
Utilising the web as a booking agent is a cost saving for Virgin Blue
which is one of the factors which allows the airline to continue
offering low fares.
Virgin Blue is keen to continue to work side by side with travel agents
so the airline’s IT team has developed a mechanism to also allow travel
agents to book on-line for the first time on behalf of their clients,
allowing those passengers the freedom to book through travel agents and
still secure low fare seats and the travel agents their commission.
The sale officially kicks off Thursday 11 January until January 28 and
is for travel anytime between now and March 24.
Bookings for the sale seats can be made online (with a $1 discount) at
www.virginblue.com.au, by calling one of our friendly reservations team
members on 13 6789 or by visiting your local travel agent. |
