Six Senses
Hotels Resorts & Spas has announced their latest Evason Resort at Hua
Hin, a beach resort area south west of Bangkok, Thailand. Six Senses
will not only manage the resort but also has a significant equity
investment in what will be their latest addition to the Evason brand.
The resort will open as “The Evason Hua Hin” in November 2001.
The resort is currently the site of Club Aldiana which will continue to
trade normally until mid March 2001 when it will be closed down for
extensive renovations and upgrades. A budget in excess of USD 5 million
has been allocated to transform the property into an Evason Resort. Six
Senses plans for the new Evason Resort include 40 pool villas measuring
approximately 130 square metres. Each villa will have it’s own private
pool plus a bathroom in a garden setting that has become a trademark of
the company’s Soneva brand. There will also be 24 deluxe suites
measuring around 60 square metres and 140 standard rooms at 35 square
metres.
Extensive meeting facilities are also included in the renovation plan
with state of the art equipment designed to host meetings for up to 150
people.
Six Senses has always placed quality dining outlets high on their list
of guest facilities and the resort will have a number of options
available to satisfy all tastes. Apart from the main restaurant guests
will be able to choose from a casual beach club concept and an Asian
fusion restaurant situated in the middle of a very large lotus pond,
plus snacks from a colonial style open air bar with panoramic views of
the sea.
The resort will also feature a Six Senses quality spa which has become a
feature of both the Evason and Soneva brands. A substantial amount of
the upgrade budget will be devoted to a large children’s centre. This
will consist of specially designed facilities for children of all ages
including a dedicated children’s pool. This facility will also become a
feature of all Evason Resorts.
Six Senses Chairman and founder Sonu Shivdasani said that “We are
positioning the resort to be the best in the Hua Hin area. It will have
facilities and standards that existing market leaders do not have and
will help us further establish the Evason brand as one of outstanding
quality in all areas. The whole style of our redevelopment will be a
mixture of contemporary elements seen in our recently opened Gallery
Evason in Singapore, with strong traditional Asian values and
materials..”
Six Senses first resort in Thailand, Phuket Island Resort, will also
complete it’s upgrades by November 2001 and will be renamed “The Evason
Phuket” at the same time as The Evason Hua Hin comes on line.
