Construction
of Hilton International's first property in Kuwait, the luxury
Hilton Kuwait Resort is now underway. Located on the Arabian Gulf coast
of
Kuwait and due to open in December 2001, the Hilton Kuwait Resort will
be
managed by Hilton International on behalf of its owners, Kuwaiti
Commercial
Markets Complex Company.
The hotel will provide a luxurious retreat just 30 kms south of Kuwait
City
Centre along 1,600 m of beautiful sandy beach in Mangaf. Set in
landscaped
gardens, the hotel will comprise 150 rooms, including 4 executive
suites, 80 two
bedroom apartments and 64 villas located on the beach. It has been
designed by
well-known architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of New York and Pan
Arab
Consulting Engineers in Kuwait.
The Hilton Kuwait Resort will be built around a lobby and central piazza
and
will be set in extensive grounds. For the business traveller, a range of
meeting rooms will be available with a capacity for up to 70 persons. A
choice
of dining options will be available with a restaurant serving Oriental,
Middle
Eastern, Italian and International cuisine and a tea lounge serving
lighter
meals and snacks.
A comprehensive range of leisure facilities will include a Health Spa
with
Aquamedic pool, two outdoor swimming pools, cardio training and aerobics
centre,
jogging and walking tracks within the landscaped grounds, and a wide
range of
outdoor leisure activities including windsurfing and sailing.
The Hilton Kuwait Resort will offer guests both local ambience and the
sophistication of global facilities and will create an ideal retreat for
local
Kuwaitis as well as cater for the increasing popularity of the Middle
East as a
holiday destination.
